The Grow1 Inline Garden Water Filter features an inline, high-flow rate design utilizing KDF-55 media to reduce 99% of water-soluble heavy metals. KDF-55 media is especially efficient at removing chlorine, chlorinated hydrocarbons and, as previously mentioned, heavy metals like lead, arsenic, aluminum, mercury, and cadmium from water. Grow1 Water Filters may be used independently or to ultimately protect existing water filtration/purification systems. Included with each filter is a flexible hose protector which allows the hose to bend at sharp angles while still delivering your filtered water unhindered!

What is KDF?
Kinetic Degradation Fluxion (KDF) is a high-purity copper-zinc formulation. KDF uses a basic chemical process which is known as redox (oxidation/reduction). This chemical process removes iron, chlorine, chloramines, mercury, lead, and hydrogen sulfide from water supplies and is used in pretreatment, primary treatment, and wastewater applications. KDF media supplement or replace existing technologies to dramatically extend system life, reduce heavy metals, reduce microorganisms, lower total cost, and decrease overall required maintenance.

How Does KDF Work?
The KDF redox process works by exchanging electrons with contaminants which converts many contaminants into harmless components. Redox involves the transfer of electrons between two molecules which changes these molecules into different elements. The loss of electrons can change contaminants into less harmful, or even harmless, elements. Some harmful contaminants are electrochemically bound to the KDF media while others are converted to harmless components, such as chlorine to chloride.
